Star Trek – 2009 Best Movie!

OMG! OMG! OMG!!!

My honey (read: husband) took me to see the new Star Trek movie this afternoon and bought me lunch and popcorn (he’s a sweetie and he’s all mine! LOL) “just because”…

That was the best present EVER!!!!

We’re geeks, we admit it, and we also had a Star Trek wedding on the bridge of the Enterprise (Next Generation) in Vegas many years ago (just awesome!) and so you know, if there’s something Trek out there, we own it or we’ve seen it. We are true Star Trek fans.

So, of course, we had to see the movie and man,  it was worth every single penny we paid for the admission and then some!

I don’t want to ruin it for those who haven’t seen it yet, but all I can say is if you enjoy a good action movie (you don’t have to be a Sci-Fi fan btw), J.J. Abrams absolutely filmed a MASTERPIECE and I kid you not, I was on the edge of my seat for the entire movie… WOW! We are definitely looking forward to sequels. It can’t stop there – this is, in my opinion, THE BEST movie of the year for 2009, at least so far. It’s going to be extremely hard to beat.

The actors all truly did a fantastic job… and they are all so lovable (well ok, not Nero! LOL)…

The storyline is just awesome (you really don’t have to be a Star Trek fan to enjoy this movie, truly, it’s just awesome no matter what) and I have to say that I wasn’t sure how well I would like Zachary Quinto playing my favorite original series character (Spock), because, in all honesty, Leonard Nimoy is “My Spock Forever”, and I was afraid that I’d be reminded of Zachary’s “Sylar” character on Heroes too much (I watched Heroes for awhile but I’m not a big fan of that particular show, and the character Sylar really scared me) but Zachary did such an incredible job in his role of Spock in the movie that he totally won me over! 

Zach, my dear, if you are ever reading this blog entry – I tip my hat off to you! You are one heck of a great actor and you really pulled it off. You’ve just gained a fan :) (and Leonard, we’ve had the chance to meet before, and you know I’ll never stop being a fan of yours and of all the work you do, including your beautiful poetry!)

So, J.J. Abrams, please do this again… We want more! Lots more!!!
